The Issue: The investment required to meet Africa’s water needs is estimated at US$50 billion per year for each of the next twenty years – the current financing is largely insufficient and needs to be urgently addressed by governments. Inaction is expected to adversely impact food security, health, and energy on the continent.

The discussion is meant to help raise awareness of the issue among an audience of African Finance Ministers attending the Annual Meetings and to lobby for their urgent action, as well as to keep the public informed.
